Week 33 History Essay
This week in History of Inventions I learned about the steamboat, Robert Fultun, the argand lamp, and the power loom. The steamboat was invented by Robert Fulton in 1787. It increased travel and now they could sail upstream. Robert Fulton was an American engineer and inventor who lived 1765-1815. He developed the steamboat in 1787 and he also developed the first submarine named the Notilis. The argand lamp was invented by Francois Argand in 1780. It is 8 times brighter than normal candles. The power loom was invented by Edmund Cartwrite in 1785. It is a mechanized loom. Those are the things that I learned about this week. My favorite one was Robert Fulton because I thought it was interesting how he developed the steamboat.
