Lesson 71: Observing Sharks-Part One
Sharks are amazing creatures. They have seven senses, which are the five that we have, but they have two more. They are the lateral line system and electro sensory system. The lateral line system can detect movement or vibration in the water. The electro sensory system is used to detect electrical currents in the water. Both of these systems help the shark to hunt prey. Sharks breathe exactly like other fish because they have gills. They always have to keep swimming or else they’ll drown. Did you their eyes. Sharks’ ears are very different than humans. They have two, very tiny holes on their bodies for hearing. If you did not know those holes were there, you could not even see them. It was so fascinating to learn about these amazing creatures.
