My Favorite Fruit

          My favorite fruit is the strawberry. Strawberries are in the genus Fragaria and the family Rosaceae. There are 20 known species and hybrid species of strawberry, but the most common type of strawberry is the garden strawberry, or Fragaria × ananassa. Strawberries do not ripen after they are picked off the bush. Harvest time is different for the different species of strawberries, but they are usually harvested in the summer and early fall. I like strawberries because I think that they are juicy, sweet, and delicious fruits that can be used for many things and can be eaten on their own.
